Learning pathways and career development counselling is available for all students. Our aim is to prepare our students for the move to university, TAFE or employment and provide them with lifelong skills to manage future career transitions.

Careers in the Curriculum

Career development learning is encouraged within the Learning Programs across all year levels. Students are encouraged to identify their interests, skills and abilities and understand how these relate to careers. At Year 10 level students have a range of options available to them (including online career matching tools, formal aptitude and interest measurement tools and direct counselling) as the basis for further investigation of careers and course pathways.  In later years the focus is on course research and evaluation in preparation for the tertiary application process.

Careers Counselling

Students are able to access Careers counselling to discuss their individual pathways planning and other course and career related issues. Students receive targeted support in relation to VCE, VCAL & VET subject selection and tertiary applications, apprenticeships and employment options.

Parents are also welcome to meet with the careers counsellor to discuss student pathways.

Work Experience

Students in Years 10-12 have the option of undertaking work experience. Students are encouraged to identify industries of interest, and approach them to secure their own work experience placement. This provides the opportunity for students to experience the world of work, understand employer expectations and build their employability skills.

Guest Speakers and Vocational Experiences

Throughout the year all students have the opportunity to hear from people from a wide range of courses and careers.
