Our College boasts one of the most comprehensive school sporting programs in Victorian Government Secondary Education.
At Lakes Entrance Secondary College we run an extensive sports program where the students compete against the local secondary colleges and if successful continue on towards the State Championships. We have reached State level in Swimming, Tennis, Table Tennis, Squash, Athletics, Cross Country, Lawn Bowls and Hockey.
Inter School Sports on Offer
The list of sport on offer is long and in fact, we will field teams in any sport in which sufficient students are interested. These include the full range of winter and summer team sports for boys and girls:
- Cross Country
- Clay Target Shooting
- Lawn Bowls
- Table Tennis
- Super 8's Cricket
All uniforms for Inter School Competition are supplied by the College. Training for each sport mainly takes place during lunchtimes.
Inter House Competitions
For all of the school sporting competitions the students are placed in one of four houses to compete and support throughout the year. The houses are:
- Albatross (red)
- Gannet (yellow)
- Kingfisher (blue)
- Pelican (green)
Each year we run a range of inter-house competitions designed to develop competition in a friendly environment. These include swimming, athletics, Cross Country and debating. These promote the spirit of broad participation and connectedness. At the end of the year the house that has accumulated the most points from each of the events and sports is awarded the overall house shield.
Our Sports Facilities
The facilities available at the college are a full size gymnasium with basketball, netball, volleyball, badminton and gymnastic facilities, along with two outside basketball/netball courts. We also have a school gym (weights room) along with a full size football oval and sports/athletics training area.
